How US Tariffs affect Sample Shipping?

Lately, getting packages into the United States has hit some choppy waters. Recent changes to US import tariffs are impacting how shipments are processed and their cost.

The New Standard: A 10% Duty Takes Effect

The President of the USA signed Executive Orders (EOs) on April 2, 2025, which imposed reciprocal tariffs on all imports from trading partners. Starting April 5, 2025, all shipments from all countries are subject to a 10% duty. Implementation of a list of specific countries with adjusted reciprocal tariffs is paused until July 9, 2025, except for shipments from China, Hong Kong, and Macau which have a reciprocal tariff increased to 125%.

Please be advised that between now and July 9, 2025, any shipments to the USA that contain any items with a COO listed as China or Hong Kong will require formal entry, and the entire package will be subject to a 120% tariff.

Beyond the High Tariff Zone: Rules for Shipments from Other Countries

For all other countries, packages with value under $800 may enter De Minimis. Packages over $800 require formal entry, COO, and consignee Tax ID, Social Security Number (EIN), and any additional documentation.
