On August 28, 2025, the Republic of Moldova
amended its Law 235/2011 on accreditation and conformity assessment. Which means Moldova is
officially rolling out the welcome mat for the CE mark. This development
promises to slash approval times and cut costs for companies who have already
undergone conformity assessments in the European Union.
Your EU Paperwork
The amendment to Article 31 of the law means that
if your radio equipment, electrical, or electronic devices meet the following
criteria, you’re on the fast track to the Moldovan market:
- EU Conformity Assessed: The product has been assessed by a notified body
within the European Union.
- EU Directive Compliant: It adheres to the relevant EU directives, such as
the Radio Equipment Directive (RED).
- CE Marked: The product
properly bears the CE mark and is accompanied by an EU Declaration of
Conformity (DoC).
If you can check these boxes, your product will be
recognized in Moldova without needing any additional local conformity
assessments.
February 28, 2026
This forward-thinking amendment is set to come
into effect on February 28, 2026. From this date forward, the door
to Moldova will be wide open for CE-marked products.
